Broadly speaking, Renato’s work can be defined as an intense expression of emotion through painting. We could even consider it a reflection of the expressionist imagination, full of nuances, where free and firm lines anchor us in the narrative of suggestion and emotion.

The project he will be showing at the IAACC Pablo Serrano, is entitled Inkless, and is the result of a long process of conceptual introspection, analysis and artistic development that Renato Costa has undergone in recent years. He chose the term Inkless to create a parallel between the concept of exhaustion or depletion –whether physical, emotional, environmental, social or as part of a changing cycle– and the apparently unrelated mechanical term that indicates that a man-made object, a printer, has come to the end of its capacity to provide the function for which it was created, and it is the moment for change: Inkless.
